ABOUT US

Jessie's Rock Logo.png

In June of 2017, Celeste and I lost our beautiful and fun loving daughter, Jessie. A year later, we started a family foundation to honor Jessie's legacy to impact children through the service and mission work of youth.  Our goal is to provide an opportunity for youth to travel to areas in desperate need of those willing to serve in the mission field and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

When Jessie and I served our Lord one summer in Colombia, it was life changing for both of us.  Spreading the Good News as father and daughter with our church youth mission team, to hundreds of children and homeless people on the drug and poverty stricken streets of Medellin’ Colombia was an experience that forever changed us both.

About the Rock

"During a Bible study, Karen, who had experienced great loss, gave each of us a rock painted red with the Bible verse that kept her going.  Her loss was so great that she didn’t-couldn’t speak about it. The rock was her way of saying that she would stay the course even in this loss and that God would sustain.  The rock symbolizes her Hope in the struggle.

A few months later when I found myself in Bradenton grieving the loss of Jessie and helping with the memorial preparations,  God gently said, “Remember Karen’s Rock.”  God knew we all needed a tangible reminder of His love and faithfulness.  So we bought some rocks and painted them purple-Jessie’s favorite color.  Then we wrote 1 Peter 5:7 on them because that verse had incredible meaning to Jessie. “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

The rock reminder would encourage many to realize Jessie’s Hope in the midst of life’s struggles and focus us on that same Hope when we encountered our own heaviness in life’s journey.  God was present, even in the struggle. He would not leave or fail us like He did not fail Jessie. Jessie’s Rock is secure."
